I need to move the tour I have booked because of the Covid-19 restrictions, what happens now?

We are closely monitoring the situation as the pandemic evolves.  If it looks though your tour cannot go ahead due to the pandemic, we will be in touch soonest to make arrangements to find a suitable alternative date.  No customer will incur additional costs for the date of a tour having to move.  Our full Terms and Conditions apply and these are sent to all customers before a booking is made.

Are your battlefield tours suitable for children?

Our guides are experts at sharing history with every age group, ensuring history comes to life.  If you would like to combine a battlefield tour with other traditional family activities (theme parks, boat trips etc) we can also include these as part of your tour.

Are your battlefield tours wheelchair accessible?

Yes – when making an enquiry, be sure to let a team member know about your needs to ensure we can do everything to make your tour accessible.

What level of fitness do we need for a battlefield tour?

Your battlefield tour is built around you, if you don’t wish to walk too far that’s not a problem.  If you would like to roam the battlefields on foot, be sure to pack some good boots!

How can I make a booking?

Simply contact Sophie’s Great War Tours by phone or email to discuss your perfect battlefield tour.  You will then be sent a booking form and you can pay your deposit securely by bank transfer, debit or credit card online.

Are you financially protected?

As a UK Tour Operator, Sophie’s Great War Tours is bound by the Package Travel Regulations 2018.  Customer monies are held securely by PT Travel Trust.

Are there still WW1 trenches to see?

There are still lots of original trenches to see and walk through, fortifications to get inside and bunkers to explore.  Here is a blog I wrote about the best preserved trenches to see.

We’ve got a guidebook – why do we need a battlefield guide?

A brilliant tour guide brings stories to life and transports you back in time so you can really understand history.  The battlefields are exactly that, fields. What happened there needs explaining and that is where a brilliant guide comes in.

How many people will I be sharing the tour with?

None. Tours with Sophie’s Great War Tours are private tours and are completely tailor-made to each client. We don’t sell spaces on a tour departure. If you don’t wish to travel alone and would prefer a group or coach tour, we have friends in the industry we can recommend you to.
